We are a teacher training provider striving to develop, support and celebrate excellent trainee teachers who are well-prepared for the teaching profession after completing our School Direct programme.
We work in partnership with some of the best universities in the country to deliver excellent teacher training across the North of England. Each university we work with brings its own unique and high-quality training to help each of our trainees to succeed.
As we offer a School Direct programme, you will complete two contrasting school placements. These experiences will support you to discover the type of setting you want to work in during your teaching career.
As a Teach North trainee, and as part of the Outwood Family, you won’t only have the support of your university and Teach North mentors, you’ll also be supported by the entire Outwood Grange Academies Trust and the Outwood Institute of Education.
We encourage all our trainees to network and build relationships with not only other trainees, but staff members at their placement schools. These relationships can provide you with an insight into years of invaluable experience in teaching and help you handle different and sometimes difficult situations.
We know that obtaining your QTS is just the beginning of your teacher journey and the ultimate aim is to secure your first teaching position. Teach North will also provide support to help you secure this. We are also well aware that some trainees want to further pursue their own education after graduating, either immediately or at some point in the future. On completion of any of our programmes, you will receive Master’s credits in addition to your PGCE with QTS.
